I am from Minot, North Dakota. I attended Minot State University and recieved a Bachelor of Social Work. I recently graduated from the University of North Dakota with a Masters in School Counseling. I have worked at Minot Head Start and at Nedrose Elementary.

My husband, Jessie, and I have two boys, Wyatt and Owen. I enjoy spending my time with my guys and cheering them on for whatever activity they enjoy. In my spare time, I love to watch movies, read, drink coffee, and play games.

The Dakota Counselor follows Ethical Standards and School Counselor Professional Standards and Competencies as Outlined by the American School Counselor Association.
"The American School Counselor Association (ASCA) supports school counselors' efforts to help students focus on academic, career and social/emotional development so they achieve success in school and are prepared to lead fulfilling lives as responsible members of society." (ASCA, 2020)

The Dakota School Counseling Program operates under The ASCA Mindsets & Behaviors For Student Success to create a social emotional learning program for all K-5 Students.

Dakota Elementary School Counseling Program provides:

Whole Group Counseling Lessons 

  • For all K-5 Students:
  • In-class lessons covering a variety of topics regarding social emotional learning
  • Twice a month
  • 30 minutes in length

Small Group Counseling

  • Planned activities outside of the classroom to promote academic, career or personal/social development
  • Students selected based on data, parent, teacher, and/or counselor recommendation
  • Typically 6-8 meetings

Individual Counseling

  • Solution-Focused brief short term counseling
  • Available for all students
  • Based on student, teacher, guardian and/or counselor referral
